A former Texas Department of Criminal Justice employee pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor Friday for falsifying her time report.
Christal Hill, 35, at the time she was indicted in April, initially was charged with two felonies. Prosecutors said she falsely claimed to have worked two days in August 2011, and that she signed someone else’s name on her time report. A plea deal allowed Hill to plead guilty to one count of tampering with a government record.
Hill was sentenced to a year’s probation and fined $1,000. If convicted on the felony counts, Hill could have faced up to 10 years in prison.
